MINDEX Launches First Licensed Virtual Asset Custodian

MINDEX

[Dec 5, 2022] MINDEX Group, launches MINDEX Digital Custodian, the first Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) licensed by Mauritius’ Financial Services Commission. This marks a significant step for Mauritius as a financial hub and the virtual asset industry.

MINDEX Digital Custodian acts as a secure “bank” for digital assets, safeguarding cryptocurrencies, security tokens, and other virtual assets. The company aims to build a complete digital ecosystem for virtual assets, with exchange and settlement services planned in the future.

This launch coincides with Mauritius’ progressive stance on virtual assets. The recently enacted Virtual Asset and Initial Token Offering Services (VAITOS) Act provides a clear legal framework for the industry, making Mauritius a forerunner in Africa and globally.

MINDEX leverages Mauritius’ strengths as an International Financial Centre to offer secure and innovative solutions to global institutions and investors. They aim to streamline financial services using blockchain technology.

MINDEX Digital Custodian is operational as of Q1 2023, positioning Mauritius as a key player in the regulated virtual asset space.
